PIANO WITH ZORISLAV

Terms

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1st October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to piano lessons, lesson packages, and related music teaching services provided by the teacher, whether booked through this website or arranged directly with the teacher.

These Terms & Conditions form part of the agreement between the teacher and the client. By booking a lesson, purchasing a lesson package, or otherwise entering into an agreement for lessons, the client confirms that they have had the opportunity to read and accept these Terms & Conditions.

1. Lesson Bookings

Lessons are subject to availability and are confirmed once the lesson time, format, and applicable payment terms have been agreed.

The client is responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date contact information when booking a lesson.

For in-home lessons, the client is responsible for providing a suitable learning environment, including an acoustic piano, a digital piano, or a keyboard in good working condition, adequate lighting, and a reasonably quiet space free from major distractions.

Travel within the designated service area is included in the lesson fee unless otherwise stated before the booking is confirmed.

The teacher may recommend a different lesson format, lesson length, level, or schedule if this is reasonably considered more suitable for the student's needs.

2. Trial Lessons

Trial lessons are intended as an introduction to the teacher's teaching approach and provide an opportunity to discuss the student's level, musical background, goals, and suitable learning approach.

A trial lesson does not guarantee ongoing availability of the same lesson time unless a regular lesson arrangement is subsequently agreed.

Following a trial lesson, the teacher may recommend an appropriate lesson length, learning plan, repertoire, or practice routine.

3. Payments and Lesson Fees

Lesson fees must be paid according to the payment terms agreed with the client at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed, receipts must be paid within 24 hours of the receipt date to secure the booking; otherwise, the session may be released to other clients.

Prices may vary depending on lesson length, lesson format, and whether lessons are purchased individually or as part of a lesson package.

Lesson packages may be paid in full or, where agreed, in instalments. Where a payment plan is agreed, the instalment arrangement does not change the total agreed package price.

Music education, including instrument lessons, provided to students under 21 may be exempt from Dutch VAT where the applicable legal conditions are met. For students aged 21 and over, Dutch VAT will be charged where required by applicable tax law. The applicable VAT treatment will be stated on the relevant booking information where appropriate.

Payments for lessons that have already been provided are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or otherwise agreed by the teacher.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please provide as much notice as possible.

Lessons cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled subject to availability.

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full and will normally not be eligible for a make-up lesson, unless the teacher agrees otherwise.

Missed lessons and no-shows may be charged in full.

For in-home lessons, if the student is not ready at the agreed start time, the lesson will normally still finish at the scheduled end time.

If the teacher needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, the teacher will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and will offer an alternative lesson time where reasonably possible.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory cancellation, withdrawal, or other consumer rights that may apply under Dutch law.

5. Student Practice and Progress

Progress in piano learning depends on factors including regular attendance, consistent practice, concentration, motivation, and the individual learning pace of each student.

The teacher provides guidance, structure, feedback, and support, but cannot guarantee specific results, examination outcomes, competition results, or performance achievements.

Students are encouraged to practise regularly between lessons in order to develop technique, musical understanding, confidence, and independence.

6. Lesson Materials

The teacher may recommend books, sheet music, apps, digital tools, or other learning materials according to the student's level and goals.

Students or parents are responsible for purchasing required books, sheet music, examination materials, or other resources unless otherwise agreed.

Original teaching materials provided by the teacher are intended for the student's personal educational use and may not be commercially reproduced, published, distributed, or reused without permission.

7. Exams, Performances, and Preparation

Where relevant, the teacher may support students with examination preparation, auditions, school performances, competitions, or personal musical goals.

Entry for examinations, auditions, or performances is subject to the student's readiness, regular practice, and the requirements of the relevant organisation.

The teacher may advise whether a student is ready for an examination or performance, but cannot guarantee admission, results, awards, or other outcomes determined by third parties.

8. Children and Young Students

For students under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for booking lessons, communication, payment, and supporting regular practice where appropriate.

For in-home lessons with minors, a parent or responsible adult must be present in the home for the duration of the lesson.

Parents or guardians should ensure that young students are ready for the lesson, have the necessary materials, and are in a suitable learning environment.

Any relevant information concerning the student's learning needs, health, or circumstances should be shared with the teacher where reasonably necessary for safe and effective teaching.

9. Student Conduct

Students are expected to attend lessons on time, behave respectfully, listen carefully, and participate with reasonable focus and effort.

The teacher may end or refuse a lesson where behaviour is seriously inappropriate, unsafe, threatening, abusive, or materially disruptive.

10. Communication

Lesson-related communication may take place by email, phone, message, or another communication method agreed between the parties.

Please communicate any changes, absences, learning concerns, or scheduling requests as early as possible.

The teacher will process personal data only as reasonably necessary to provide and administer the lessons and in accordance with applicable data protection law. Further information may be provided in the teacher's Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

Piano lessons are provided with reasonable care and professional skill and are intended to support musical development, confidence, creativity, and technical progress.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Dutch law, the teacher is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from lessons, missed lessons, examination outcomes, performances, competitions, or information provided on this website.

The teacher is not responsible for circumstances outside the teacher's reasonable control, including illness, accidents, technical failures, travel disruption, severe weather, government measures, or other force majeure circumstances.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability or statutory rights where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted under Dutch law.

12. Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions and agreements between the teacher and the client are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

If the client is a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive the client of any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply under applicable law.

13. Statutory Right of Withdrawal

If the client is a consumer and the agreement is concluded at a distance (e.g. by email or through this website), the client has 14 calendar days to withdraw without giving a reason, starting the day after the agreement was concluded (the "Withdrawal Period").

To withdraw, the client must notify the teacher by a clear statement. Full details and instructions on how to submit a withdrawal are explained in Article 14 below.

The teacher will refund all payments within 14 days of being informed, using the same payment method, at no cost to the client.

If the client expressly requested that lessons begin before the end of the 14-day period, the client shall pay only for lessons already provided at the time of withdrawal.

If the teacher did not provide the required withdrawal information, the withdrawal period is extended to 12 months, or 14 days after the information is provided, whichever is earlier.

14. Withdrawal Form

You have the right to withdraw from a distance agreement within 14 calendar days without giving a reason. You can use online Withdrawal Form or this standard form if you wish to do so, but it is not obligatory. A clear statement by email is also sufficient.

To withdraw, complete this form and send it to:

I/we hereby inform you that I/we withdraw from our contract regarding:

The supply of the following service: [description]

Ordered on / received on: [date]

Name of consumer: [name]

Address of consumer: [address]

Signature (only if this form is submitted on paper): [signature]

Date: [date]

15. Duration and Termination

This section applies after the 14-day Withdrawal Period has ended. During the Withdrawal Period, the client's rights are governed solely by the Statutory Right of Withdrawal above.

Individual lessons end once the agreed lesson(s) has been provided.

Lesson packages are concluded for the duration stated in the agreement, and end once all lessons in the package have been provided.

If the client wishes to end the agreement before the package is used up, the client may do so in writing at any time, subject to a notice period of one month. The client remains liable for lessons already provided and for lessons scheduled within the notice period. Any amount already paid for lessons not provided and not falling within the notice period will be refunded.

The teacher may terminate the agreement in writing if the client seriously breaches the agreement (for example, by not paying or by repeatedly failing to attend). In that case, the client remains liable for lessons already provided and for lessons within the notice period, if any.

Termination must be in writing (e.g. email to info@pianowithzorislav.nl); the date of receipt is decisive.

16. Payment, Instalments and Late Payment

Individual lessons booked through Calendly are paid through Stripe at the time of booking. The booking is confirmed once payment has been received.

For lesson packages, once the lessons, format, and price have been agreed, the teacher will send the client an email with a payment link. The booking of the package is only confirmed once payment has been received.

The payment link is valid for 24 hours. If payment is not received within this period, the offer lapses automatically and the reserved lesson time may be released and offered to other students. The teacher is under no obligation to hold the time beyond this period.

Lesson packages may be paid in full or in instalments; instalments do not change the total package price. Any advance payment will not exceed 50% of the total price, as required by Dutch law.

If the client pays in instalments, each instalment must be paid before the lessons covered by that instalment are provided.

If instalment is not paid by its due date, the teacher will allow the client 14 days to pay. After that, statutory interest and reasonable extrajudicial collection costs may be charged on the overdue amount, not exceeding the statutory maximum under Dutch law.

The client must report any inaccuracy in the amount, description, or payment details stated in the payment link within 5 working days of receiving it. If the client does not report an inaccuracy within this period, the payment link is deemed accepted, without prejudice to the client's statutory rights and to the client's right to dispute obvious errors.

17. Price Changes

Prices will not be increased during the validity of an offer, except for VAT or statutory changes.

Price increases within 3 months after the agreement are only permitted if required by law.

Price increases after 3 months are only permitted if stipulated in advance and either required by law or the client may terminate the agreement on the day the increase takes effect.

Price changes will be communicated in advance and apply only to future lessons, unless otherwise required by law.

18. Conformity

The teacher guarantees that the lessons conform to the agreement, the specifications in the offer, and applicable statutory requirements at the time of conclusion.

Any additional guarantee does not affect the client's statutory rights if the teacher fails to fulfil the agreement.

19. Complaints Procedure

Complaints must be submitted in writing to info@pianowithzorislav.nl, including the client's name, a description of the issue, and relevant dates.

The teacher will acknowledge receipt within 14 days and aim to resolve the complaint within 4 weeks. If more time is needed, the teacher will inform the client of the expected timeframe.

If the complaint cannot be resolved directly, the client may refer the dispute to the competent court in the Netherlands, to the extent permitted by Dutch law.

20. Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory consumer rights under Dutch law that cannot be excluded or limited. If the client is a consumer, the choice of Dutch law does not deprive the client of mandatory consumer protection rights under the law of their habitual residence.

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force, and the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid one reflecting its original purpose.

21. Website Information

Information on this website is provided for general information about piano lessons and music education.

While reasonable care is taken to keep information accurate and up to date, website information is general in nature and may not be suitable for every student's individual circumstances.

Specific lesson arrangements, prices, schedules, and other important information applicable to an individual client will be confirmed separately where required.

22. Website Content and Copyright

Text, images, lesson materials, resources, and other original content on this website may not be copied, reproduced, published, distributed, or commercially reused without permission, except where permitted by law.

Any downloadable or shared teaching materials are provided for the student's personal learning use only.

23. Changes to These Terms

The teacher may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be made available on this website.
